Who We Are
Upreels is a creator marketplace based in Kerala, India. We help content creators — reels makers, videographers, photographers, and mobile content creators — build professional profiles and connect with clients who need their skills. What Data We Collect
Personal Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and optionally a profile picture and bio. If you're a creator, you may also add your location (state/country), pricing, social links, and portfolio images.
Automatically Collected Data
When you use Upreels, we automatically collect your IP address, device type, browser type, and the pages you visit. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and understand how people use our platform.
Payment Information
If you subscribe to Upreels Pro, your payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card number, CVV, or banking details on our servers. We only retain your subscription ID, payment status, and transaction amounts.
Push Notifications
If you enable notifications in the Upreels mobile app, we collect a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token and store it on our servers. We use this token only to deliver push notifications you have opted into, such as chat alerts.
Messages & Leads
When a client contacts a creator through the platform chat, we store the conversation content and timestamps on our servers. Messages are encrypted in transit (TLS) but are not end-to-end encrypted. We may also store contact details (name, email, phone) you provide in forms or profiles.
How We Collect It
We collect information when you sign up, fill in your profile, use our chat, or browse creator profiles. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site — this tool uses cookies and collects anonymized usage data. You may also sign in via Google OAuth, in which case we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
Why We Collect It
We use your data to:
- Operate and improve the Upreels platform
- Show your creator profile to potential clients
- Send you relevant emails (welcome, subscription reminders, platform updates)
- Process your Upreels Pro subscription payments
- Keep the platform secure and prevent abuse
- Understand how the site is used so we can make it better
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties — ever.
Who We Share It With
We only share your data with trusted third-party services that help us run the platform:
- Google Firebase (FCM) — to deliver push notifications in the mobile app
- Razorpay — to process subscription payments securely
- Google Analytics — to understand site usage
- Cloudflare R2 — to store and serve profile and gallery images
- Gmail / MailerSend / Brevo — to deliver transactional and journey emails
We may also disclose your data if required by law, a court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Upreels or its users. We do not sell your data to any third party, period.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and you lose access. Your personal data and uploaded media are permanently removed within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to retain (such as payment records processed via Razorpay). Anonymised analytics data may be kept indefinitely. See our account deletion page for full details.
Your Rights
You are always in control of your data. You can:
- Access and update your profile information from your dashboard at any time
- Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account from Settings → Account in the app, or see our account deletion page at upreels.in/delete-account
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email we send

Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in (authentication cookies) and to understand how you navigate the site (analytics cookies via Google Analytics). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies for retargeting. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features like staying logged in will stop working.
How We Protect Your Data
All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payment data is handled entirely by Razorpay — PCI-DSS compliant. Profile images are stored on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure. Access to our production database is restricted to authorised team members only.
Policy Updates
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Upreels after the update means you accept the revised policy. Minor clarifications will be updated without a separate notification.
